Deleting your Church Membership account

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This page explains how to request deletion of your Church Membership (CIS) account and the data that goes with it. You can make the request without installing the app.

1. How to request deletion

  • In the app: open the Account tab, choose Contact Church Admin, and send your deletion request.
  • Through your church admin: contact your church office — they are the ones who hold that church's member records.
  • By email: write to cis@ikonmedia.id from the address you registered with, giving your full name and the name of your church.

2. How long it takes

We verify each request first, to be sure it comes from the account holder. Deletion is completed within 30 days of the request being verified, and you are told once it is done.

3. What is deleted

  • Your app account: name, email address, phone number, and password.
  • Any profile photo you uploaded.
  • Your activity history: devotionals read, liked, and shared.
  • Your private spiritual journal and sermon notes.
  • Prayer requests you sent, including your own "praying for this" markers.
  • Your device address for push notifications, so the app stops sending you any.

4. What is kept, and why

  • Church membership records: your name and member details in the church register belong to the church. Deleting your app account does not remove your membership of that church — ask the church directly for that.
  • Giving records: kept for as long as the church's bookkeeping requires, and separated from your app account identity.
  • Attendance records: kept as the church's own service statistics, no longer linked to the deleted account.

5. Leaving the app without deleting your member record

If you only want to stop using the app but remain registered as a member, say so in your request. Your church admin can deactivate just the app account.
